NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SOCIAL SERVICE (NCSS)
My heartiest congratulations to the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) on your 40th anniversary! On behalf of NCSS, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to SAC for faithfully serving our communities over the past four decades. SAC has played, and will continue to play, a critical role in our community by protecting the interest of our service users, counsellors, and psychotherapists in Singapore.
Congratulations on the robust growth of your membership base, due in no small part to SAC’s dedication and passion for the sector. Counsellors and psychotherapists play a critical role in meeting the growing mental health needs of Singaporeans. With the establishment of the Register of Counsellors and the Counselling Course Recognition Programme, SAC has helped to significantly improve the standards of practice of Counselling in Singapore so that clients can be better served.
As NCSS embarks on the next Social Service Strategic Thrusts (4ST) roadmap, we look forward to working closely with SAC to build up the professional capabilities of our Social Service Agencies. I would also like to appreciate Dr Frederick Low’s (President of SAC) contributions to the Social Service SkillsFuture Tripartite Taskforce (STT) which has helped to drive manpower development in the sector amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. I wish SAC the very best in the journey ahead as we work together to create a more caring and inclusive society.
