STUDENT MEMBER

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $40

This membership is granted through online application, with support from two character referees, to and approval by the Executive Committee. Applicant shall be undertaking a SAC Recognised Programme at time of application. 


You will need to upload the following documents in PDF / JPG format on the portal:


  • Passport photo

  • Letter of Acceptance of a SAC Recognised Programme by the educational institution

ASSOCIATE MEMBER

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $80

This membership is open to any person with a keen interest in counselling and holds a qualification at the tertiary level. The membership is granted through online application, with support from two character referees, to and approval by the Executive Committee. International practitioners based locally or overseas may apply. 


You will need to upload the following documents in PDF / JPG format on the portal:


  • Passport photo

  • Certificate(s) and corresponding transcript(s)

  • Letter of current employment

ALLIED MEMBER

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $80

This membership is granted through online application, with support from two character referees, to and approval by the Executive Committee. Applicant shall have fulfilled all the following requirements:

  • Holds an undergraduate / postgraduate degree in Counselling, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or its equivalent

  • Is working in a counselling-related position


You will need to upload the following documents in PDF / JPG format on the portal:


  • Passport photo

  • Certificate(s) and corresponding transcript(s)

  • Letter of current employment and corresponding job description

PROVISIONAL CLINICAL MEMBER (PCM)

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $40

This membership is granted through online application, with support from two character referees, to and approval by the Executive Committee. Application is to be accompanied by a declaration of intent in working towards registration on the SAC Register of Counsellors on the online portal (3-year timeline). Applicant shall have fulfilled all the following requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing

  • Has completed a SAC Recognised Programme or its equivalent 

  • Is working towards registration on the SAC Register of Counsellors (within three years from the date of approval of PCM application)


You will need to upload the following documents in PDF / JPG format on the portal:


  • Passport photo

  • Certificate(s) and corresponding transcript(s)

  • Letter of current employment and corresponding job description

  • Practicum log sheets


Additional documents to upload for a non-SAC Recognised Programme:


  • SAC Counselling Log Sheet documenting 100 hours of face-to-face counselling and 10 hours of Clinical Supervision (hours to be broken down into individual sessions)

  • Detailed description of programme, including but not restricted to module descriptions, duration per module etc. available on official website or entry documents


Please note that w.e.f. January 1 2015, the ratio for Group Clinical Supervision versus Individual Clinical Supervision is 70:30, i.e. a maximum of 42 hours of Group Supervision and a minimum of 18 hours of Individual Supervision.

CLINICAL MEMBER

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $80

This membership is granted through online application, with support from two character referees, to and approval by the Executive Committee. Application is to be accompanied by a declaration of intent in working towards registration on the SAC Register of Counsellors on the online portal (3-year timeline). Applicant shall have fulfilled all the following requirements:

  • Completed a SAC Recognised Programme or its equivalent 

  • Achieved 600 hours of face-to-face counselling

  • Received 60 hours of Clinical Supervision

You will need to upload the following documents in PDF / JPG format on the portal:

  • Passport photo

  • Certificate(s) and corresponding transcript(s)

  • Letter of current employment and corresponding job description

  • SAC Counselling Hours Log sheets

    • Clocked in one block period (most recent 36 months) within seven years upon completion of a SAC recognised programme at the time of application

    • Counselling hours must be broken down into individual sessions in chronological order

    • Each page must be endorsed by Head of Agency

    • Ensure that your name, signature, and total number of hours are clearly printed on the bottom of each page

  • SAC Supervision Log sheets

    • Clocked in one block period (most recent 36 months) within seven years upon completion of a SAC recognised programme at the time of application

    • Supervision hours must be broken down into individual sessions in chronological order

    • Each page must be endorsed by either a SAC Registered Counsellor or SAC Registered Clinical Supervisor

    • Please note that no combination of supervisors into the same log sheet is allowed.

  • SAC Counselling Log Sheet documenting 100 hours of face-to-face counselling and 10 hours of Clinical Supervision (hours to be broken down into individual sessions)

  • Detailed description of programme, including but not restricted to module descriptions, duration per module etc. available on official website or entry documents


Please note that w.e.f. January 1 2015, the ratio for Group Clinical Supervision versus Individual Clinical Supervision is 70:30, i.e. a maximum of 42 hours of Group Supervision and a minimum of 18 hours of Individual Supervision.

For supervision hours clocked with a non-SAC Registered Counsellor (RC) or non-SAC Registered Clinical Supervisor (RCS), we regret to inform that we are unable to pre-approve prior to receiving the membership application. At point of application, applicant will need to submit a copy of the supervisor’s CV together with all the other required documents during online application. 

Clinical members shall be entitled to use the post nominal letters: CMSAC

Membership: Membership

MASTER CLINICAL MEMBER

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $80

This membership is granted through online application, with support from at least three Fellow, Master Clinical or Clinical members, to and approval by the Executive Committee. Application is to be accompanied by documentary proof of training and supervision hours conducted by applicant. 


Applicant shall have fulfilled all the following requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing

  • Holds the Clinical Membership for a minimum of five years

  • Holds the registration on the SAC Register of Counsellors for a minimum of four years

  • Has conducted 100 hours of training / supervision in counselling

Master Clinical members shall be entitled to use the post nominal letters: MMSAC

FELLOW MEMBER

One-time Non-Refundable Admin Fee: $50
Annual fee: $80

This membership shall be conferred through nomination and approval at Annual General Meeting. Fellow membership shall be jointly nominated by at least three Fellow, Master Clinical or Clinical members, and proposed as an agenda item at Annual General Meeting.


A Fellow member shall have fulfilled all the following requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing

  • Holds the Master Clinical Membership for a minimum of ten years

  • Has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of counselling knowledge or practice either by research, teaching, publications, or clinical work 

  • Has performed distinctive service to the Association (Executive committee, Subcommittees, Organising committees, Standing committees etc)


Fellow members shall be entitled to use the post nominal letters: FSAC

Membership: Membership

OTHER MEMBERSHIP FEES

Retired Member: 

- Annual fee: S$40

- Applicant is required to request for the Declaration of Retirement Form in writing via email (admin@sacsingapore.org)

Registered Counsellor (RC)

- S$200 for two years from the date of SAC EXCO approval

- Renewal requirements: 400 clinical hours and 50 CPD hours

Registered Clinical Supervisor (RCS)

- S$100 for two years from the date of SAC EXCO approval

Professional Indemnity Insurance (subject to prevailing rate from insurer)

- Annual fee: S$160.50

- Applicable for Fellow Member, Master Clinical Member, Clinical Member, and Provisional Clinical Member
